Fiber P0rn

The Bunny was at It Again
Like bunnies, more Black Bunny fiber has multiplied in my stash.

"Pacific" colorway in BFL

"Asteroid" in Falkland (a new wool for me).
One of these will be used for something in "energized singles" when I get to it.

THURSDAY THURSDAY THURSDAY
!!!
I went to Rosie's to meet Shannon Okey and Kim Werker on their 'Monsters of Tween crafting' tour. They were both awesome, and I had a good show and tell with my dishwasher dyed fiber and orangina. Poor Shannon was even delightful while being sick. I got to see some Rosie's people I don't see often like Carol the Black Bunny Enabler.

Spin to Knit

I have the book Spin to Knit now as well, I wish I had this book when I started spinning this spring. If you want to know how to card fiber, use your new wheel, and how to ply (or not), it's a great starter book. There is a handy WPI-to-gauge-to-yardage per pound chart I know I'll find helpful.
The patterns are simple, flexible to spinning variations in gauge and quantity. It encourages you to mix your small amounts of handspun with commercial yarns for bigger projects like sweaters.

I know I'll make the Wooly Mammoth shaped teapot cozy, complete with my own handmade polymer clay tusks.

I think mine will be a mastodon though, in honor of the Hyde Park mastodon in NY I helped excavate.

Love the fiber. I'm itching to spin these days, but I've been too busy knitting socks--trying to finish up a pair in time to wear to SAFF this coming weekend.

The mammoth is so cool!
