Finished shawl and SP goodies

Today was a good day. The flower Basket shawl is done blocking.
Crazy speed skating Dutch 'Orange' fans go wild!

Pattern: Flower Basket Shawl, IK
yarn: Knitpicks dye your own laceweight Cushings' acid dyed in terra cotta
Notes: Yarn doubled, 9 lower shawl pattern repeats

It really is just the right size for work. I won't sit on it, yet I can tie it around my shoulders. I'm amazed holey wool is so warm. I love the very slightly heathered look of the handdyed yarn with lace. It gives it a lot of depth. I have a feeling a lot of my solid colored lace projects in the future will be kettle dyed.

On to other news...

This is my packet from my secret Pal!
I got a whole tube of Jaffa cakes and some Green Orange and lotus flower tea (being consumed as I type...yummy!). Some really soft lovely fiber for a pair of thrummed mitts, a ball of pretty blue Rowan Calmer for the Shedir hat, the pattern in a nice sleeve, kitty notecards (hand made?) and a lovely cabled bookmark. All my SPs have send me bookmarks, I love them!

Thanks SP, everything was spot on!
