Yarn porn Friday

Well, it's Saturday, so shoot me. Yarn Porn Friday is brought to you by turtlegirl.

Guess what!? I bought yarn this week!

First, I had business in Haddonfield NJ, and stopped by Yarnplay. It's a cute shop and they have good taste in yarn. If Rosies wasn't as well supplied as it is, I'd be tripping up to Haddonfield more often. They do carry Mountain Colors, which no one in town seems to do, so I grabbed this:

Bearfoot in Granite Peak. It will make warm fuzzy wuzzy socks.

Second, Rosies had an Anne shipment this week. The usual sharks circled, and I got this:

I don't know what its for yet. It's too pretty for socks. Besides it's Anne. I need to stock up for retirement when I'm on a fixed income.

Third, I bought 1700yrds of heavy laceweight red cashmere from ebay. It's going to be for the Faux Russian stole in Gathering of Lace. I've been hunting the right red yarn for this for a while now. Why not cashmere at mill end prices? I think I'll start this project very soon. I've wanted a bright red lace stole for those upcoming dreary winter days.

Insanity Mittens
The mitten obsession continues. Now it's not good enough to knit them, I have to attempt to design them.

"Attempt" is the key word. Sharpie fumes and Don Julio is required for the thumb charts.

Nice yarn porn! Have you seen the mitten patterns at hello yarn? Just wondering, I think they're neat. I love the yarn that will make "warm fuzzy wuzzy socks"! Nice!

Mm, that bearfoot reminds me I have some in the stash and the weather's going to be just right for it soon :)

Good luck w/ the mittens!!

Ha ha! Huffing and drinking in the name of getting just the right design! The real test is when you wake up the next morning and look at what you've designed--does it make sense? Mine never do!

As usual, the Anne looks lovely, great colour. I'm very envious of your LYS.
Clever you for designing that chart. Just the chart looks like art, so I'm sure the mittens will be beautiful!

Oooh! Lovely yarn. I agree, you have to buy it now...you can always figure out what to make with it later. Let it speak to you!
