Yarn Splurge
I've had a few requests to show off the webs yarn splurge.
First, Valley Yarns Rainbow:
It looks more 'novelty' in the ball then it does knit up. It morphs into some lovely marled goodness.
This is the sweater I'm making:
It's a horrid picture. I think it's 5x too big then compared to the store sample. If you are on Ravelry there are a few there that are better!
So next I bought two skeins of Valley Yarns Kangaroo Dyer
One Franklin sock yarn:
(winter yarn porn sucks- no natural light!)
One of the alpaca silk 2/14 lace:
Knit up, this has the most interesting 'crisp' linen-like stitch definition. It's going to be Juno Regina one of these days.
Then two skeins of Blue Sky Alpacas Silk/Alpaca:
Which is going to be the cabled gloves from the Fall Vogue Knitting.
I then rounded it off with 4 ounces of camel roving that became affordable after the WEBS discounts.
Frankly, I think it was a pretty controlled splurge for someplace like WEBS.
I'll show you what I got at the Alpaca farm next time!
